Background:
The SU School of Education partners with the
Holocaust Museum of Houston to teach the dangers of hatred and
prejudice. SU student teachers are trained how to conduct “secondary
school” lessons on the Holocaust, which are now mandatory in 17 states
(including NY and TX). This is the fourth year this one week study
program will be held in Houston. SU onsite
participation is about 30 Special Guests,
Staff, and Students. (UT Austin
also conducts similar annual Student Teacher training, but at different
dates.) The SU students are known as Spector/Warren Fellows, and the
Spector Family Foundation funds the program.
Details: Please join
fellow SU Alumni on Mon Jan 05 to support the Museum's mission and
SU's collaborative education program.

"I attended some of the (Holocaust
Student Teacher training) sessions last year as Trustee and I can
assure everyone that this is one of the most important, moving, and
affirming programs that SU has. I highly recommend it to the Alumni
Association without reservation."
