Please consider a gift to the TexBucks Fund which is used to fund scholarships for sophomore, junior, and senior SU students from our area who meet academic guidelines and demonstrate financial need.

Over $14,000 has been awarded since the program started in 1994. These funds are typically given as gift certificates to the University Bookstore.

TexBucks donations are tax deductible and can easily be made by check when you send in your membership dues form. TexBucks donations can also easily be made in an even more tax efficient manner by transferring appreciated Common Stock to the SUH TexBucks Scholarship Fund.

TexBucks Awards

August 2007:  Eighteen returning students each received $150 TexBucks gift certificates to the SU School Bookstore.  The students are:  Sophomores - Rachel Eldridge, Ashley Ellerin, Deborah Findling, Colin Lamborn, Jessica Shaw, and Ashley Torregrossa.  Juniors: Rachel Jacob, Jenina Kibuka, David Lindsay II, Erica Roggen, Jorden Rosen, Drew Stal, and Blean Taye.  Seniors: Natalie Adelman, Raina Fraley, Savanna Horan, Ross Kinnaird, and Sara Silkwood.

August 2006:  Eighteen returning students each received $175 TexBucks gift certificates to the SU School Bookstore. The students are: Sophomores - Crystal Beavers, Jenina Cason-Kibuka, Megan Eitelbach, Rachel Jacob, David Lindsay II, Salvatore Maneen, Amy Mitchell, Zoe Nemetz, Kristine Ota, Erica Roggen, Jorden Rosen, Christina Saulsberry, Sara Silkwood, Courtney Smith & Blean Taye; Juniors - Natalie Adelman, Jade Fulce & Melanie Stein; Seniors - (none).

August 2005: Eight returning students each received $250 TexBucks gift certificates to the SU School Bookstore. The students are: Sophomores – Ida Clay, Ross Kinnaird, Lisa Schlembach & Melanie Stein; Juniors – Mariana Black, Carroll Madison II & Clay Rehrig; Seniors – Latoya Crayton.

August 2004: Nine returning students each received $250 TexBucks gift certificates to the SU School Bookstore. The students are: Sophomores - Raina Fraley, Savanna Horan & John Medler; Juniors - Mariana Black, Ashley Chestnut, Leslie Jack; and Seniors - Shannon Eaker, Anne Hoffman & Trang Tran.

August 2003:  Three returning students each received $250 TexBucks gift certificates to the SU School Bookstore.  The students are:  Magdalena Chwaleba, Annie Hoffman, and Kimberly Salley.

August 2002:  Three returning students each received $250 TexBucks gift certificates to the SU School Bookstore.  The students are:  Magdalena Chwaleba, Annie Hoffman, and Krystal Wilson.

August 2001:  One returning student received a $250 TexBucks gift certificate to the SU School Bookstore.  The student is:  Magdalena Chwaleba.

August 2000:  Two returning students each received $200 TexBucks gift certificates to the SU School Bookstore.  The students are:  Zenaida Davis, and Bridgett Wines.
